Hastings Wakhuta has extensive work experience in the field of Information Systems (IS) and IT Auditing. Hastings began their career as a Systems Support Trainee at Lafarge Cement Malawi, where they gained experience in areas such as Windows Server Administration. Hastings then worked as an ICT Associate at UNDP Malawi, providing IT support to various UN agencies. Following this, they served as an IT Officer at Malawi Rural Finance, where they were involved in a project to upgrade the company's microfinance system. Hastings then joined USAID/Feed The Future Project as an ICT Specialist, responsible for managing IT systems for the project staff and field offices. Currently, they are employed as the Manager of IS and Technical Audits at Telekom Networks Malawi Limited, leading a team of IT Auditors and executing internal audits for the Information Systems and Networks divisions. Hastings'srole includes assisting in the development of annual internal audit plans and reviewing the implementation of security controls for major and critical systems.

Hastings Wakhuta's education history begins in 2006 when they enrolled at the University of Malawi- Polytechnic. Hastings pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Systems and completed their studies in 2009.

In 2013, Hastings gained certification from ISACA (Information Systems Audit and Control Association) in the field of Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA). This certification was focused on information systems audit and control.

Moving forward to 2022, Hastings is set to pursue a Master's degree in Management Information Systems at the Malawi Institute of Management. This program will further enhance their knowledge and expertise in the field of Information Technology.

Aside from their formal education, Hastings has also obtained several additional certifications to expand their skill set. In 2015, they became a Telecoms Revenue Assurance Practitioner, certified by GRAPA (Global Revenue Assurance Professional Association). In 2016, they obtained the Resilia Certified CyberSecurity Practitioner certification from AXELOS Global Best Practice.

In 2018, Hastings acquired the Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) designation from ISACA, which complements their previous certification from the same institution. Additionally, they became a Certified Network Defense Architect (CNDA) through EC-Council in the same year.

Hastings' most recent certification is as a Certified Cyber Security Lead Manager from PECB (Professional Evaluation and Certification Board), obtained in 2019. These additional certifications highlight their commitment to continuous learning and professional growth in the field of information systems and cybersecurity.
