Director LEO Systems Design And Modelling at Telesat

Eric Choinière, PhD, P.Eng. has an extensive work experience in the field of satellite systems and engineering. Eric is currently working at Telesat as the Director of LEO Systems Design and Modelling. Before this, they held various roles at Telesat including Manager of LEO Systems Design and Modelling, Satellite System Architect - LEO, and Satellite Systems Specialist. Prior to joining Telesat, they worked at MDA Space Missions as a Senior Member of the Technical Staff, where they specialized in antenna design. Eric also worked as a Defence Scientist at Defence Research and Development Canada. Eric started their career as a Graduate Student Research Assistant and Teaching Assistant at the University of Michigan. Eric also served as a Graduate Student Research Fellow at École Polytechnique de Montréal. Overall, Eric's work experience demonstrates their expertise in satellite systems, antenna design, and research and development.

Eric Choinière, PhD, P.Eng. completed their education in a chronological manner. Eric started their academic journey in 1992 at CEGEP Bois-de-Boulogne, where they obtained a D.E.C. in Pure & Applied Science in 1994. Eric then went on to attend Polytechnique Montréal from 1994 to 1997, earning a B.Eng. in Electrical Engineering. Continuing their studies at the same institution, they pursued a M.A.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from 1997 to 1999. Finally, Eric completed their higher education at the University of Michigan, where they obtained their Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from 1999 to 2004.
