Rachel Foong

Adjunct Research Associate at Telethon Kids Institute

Rachel Foong has an extensive work experience in the field of epidemiology and research. Rachel is currently working as an Epidemiologist at the Department of Health (WA Health) since August 2022. Prior to this, they held various roles at the Telethon Kids Institute, including Senior Research Fellow since November 2021, NHMRC Early Career Fellow from January 2018 to December 2021, Research Officer from January 2015 to December 2017, PhD Candidate from April 2011 to June 2015, and Research Assistant from April 2008 to September 2014. Rachel also worked as an Adjunct Research Fellow at Curtin University starting from February 2017. Additionally, they have experience as a Research Collaborator at The Hospital for Sick Children from August 2017 to January 2019, and as a Research Fellow from November 2016 to August 2017.

Rachel Foong holds a Master's degree in Biostatistics from the University of Sydney, which they obtained from 2018 to 2020. Prior to that, they pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Respiratory Physiology at The University of Western Australia from 2011 to 2015. Rachel Foong's undergraduate education includes a Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Molecular Biology and Biomedical Science from Murdoch University, where they studied from 2004 to 2007.
