Theoni Whyman (Tia)

Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Telethon Kids Institute

Tia Whyman, also known as Theoni, has a diverse range of work experience. Theoni (Tia) started their career as a Nutritionist at Nutrition to the T in 2011 and worked there until 2015. In 2017, they became a Cultural Consultant at Meeting Place and held this role until 2018. From 2018 to 2021, Tia worked as a Guest Lecturer at Monash University and also served as a Cultural Consultant and Research Support Officer for the development of the Indigenous components of the Pillar program. Theoni (Tia) then joined Monash Health in 2020 as an Aboriginal Health Project Officer and worked there until 2022. Tia then moved on to become a Principal Planning Officer, focusing on First Nations Health Equity, at Central West Hospital and Health Service from 2022 to 2023. Following this, they held the role of a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Telethon Kids Institute from 2023 onwards.

Theoni (Tia) Whyman has a diverse education history. Theoni (Tia) began their academic journey in 2008 at the Australasian College of Natural Therapies, where they pursued an Advance Diploma of Nutritional Medicine. After completing their diploma in 2010, they decided to further enhance their knowledge in the field of psychology. From 2013 to 2016, they attended Western Sydney University and obtained a Bachelor of Psychological Studies. Eager to continue their studies, they joined Monash University in 2017 and graduated with a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Psychology. Theoni (Tia)'scommitment to the field led their to pursue a higher degree, and from 2018 to 2021 they dedicated their time to complete a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Psychology at Monash University. Through their academic endeavors, Theoni (Tia) Whyman has developed a strong foundation in psychology and a specialization in nutritional medicine, presenting their with a unique blend of knowledge to contribute to their chosen field.
