Melissa Hill's work experience begins in 2000 as a Graphic Designer at Flowers, Inc. Balloons. Melissa then worked as a Graphic Designer at Robertson and Markowitz Advertising and PR from 2004 to 2006, where they executed print and television advertisement designs for various clients. Melissa then joined Gulfstream Aerospace where they worked as a Senior Graphic Designer from 2006 to 2012, responsible for designing marketing campaigns to support the sales of Gulfstream aircraft. Melissa was later promoted to Manager, Marketing Design and served as corporate brand manager. In 2017, Melissa became a Creative Director and Designer at Southern Dog Design Co., where they developed branding strategies and managed print production. Lastly, they are currently working at Telfair Museums as a Creative Director, managing and producing various creative materials for the museum.

Melissa Hill has a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) degree in Graphic Design from the University of Georgia - Franklin College of Arts and Sciences. Melissa obtained this degree between 1994 and 2001. In 2011, Melissa pursued a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in Design Management from the Savannah College of Art and Design. Melissa completed their Master's degree in 2013. Additionally, Melissa has another Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) degree in Graphic Design from the University of Georgia - Franklin College of Arts and Sciences. Melissa also has a Master of Arts (MA) degree in Design Management from the Savannah College of Art and Design, though the specific dates of completion are unknown.

In 2015, Melissa obtained a certification in Inbound Marketing from the HubSpot Academy.
