Jan Cuřín has a diverse work history that spans over two decades. Jan began their career as a Software Engineer at Schemantix in 2000 and worked there until 2001. Jan then pursued their studies and joined Charles University as a Researcher and PhD Student from 2002 to 2004. After that, they joined IBM as a Research Scientist and later became a Manager at IBM Watson R&D Lab, where they worked from 2004 to 2021. In 2021, Cuřín co-founded The MAMA AI and took on the role of Co-Founder and VP of NLP & Analytics. In 2022, they joined TELMA AI as CTO.
Jan Cuřín completed their education in a chronological order, starting from 1992 to 1998. During this period, they attended Charles University, where they pursued a degree in Computer Science and obtained an RNDr. qualification. Following this, Jan pursued further studies at the same university, from 1998 to 2006, where they earned a Ph.D. degree in Mathematical Linguistics and Machine Translation. In December 2018, Jan also obtained a certification in Plateau from IBM.
