Job Title: SI/PI Engineer

Degree Required: MS or higher

Job Description: 

The SI/PI Engineer will work with the hardware and system engineers to develop Tenafe’s next generation SSD products and will be in charge of package and board level signal integrity and power integrity simulation and measure, and will need to create simulation and measure reports and guarantee products have no issues in signal integrity or power integrity.  

Job Responsibilities: 

  • Work with the hardware and system engineers to optimize package and PCB board design from SI/PI point of view

  • Need to perform Transient, AC, DC and PDN analysis for package and PCB board, and need to optimize the decoupling capacitors and power plane split

  • In charge of PCIE4/5, DDR4/5, ONFI4/5 signal integrity design

  • Define package pin map, optimize power/ground and signal ball location based on simulation result

  • Create IBIS module for Tenafe SSD controller include PCIE, NANDFLASH and DDR

  • Create SI/PI design guidelines for PCB design and checking the final package/PCB design

  • Deliver SI/PI simulation report and measure the SI/PI performance after ASIC/PCB board back, and correction with the simulation result

  • Tracking with the SI/PI development tendency especial ONFI/TOGGLE, DDR5 and PCIE5

Job Requirements: 

  • Master’s degree or higher with 5+ years of work experience in SI/PI simulation/measure area
  • Deep knowledge on transmission line theory, electromagnetic field theory and time & frequency domain analysis
  • Have a good understanding on PCB stack-up, material, manufacturing variations, and design tradeoff between cost and performance
  • Working knowledge of system level power integrity and budgeting, including DC, AC and transient
  • Experience of DDR4/5 design on signal quality optimization, timing analysis and correlation
  • Experiences of using Spice, IBIS, AMI-IBIS, and S-parameter models
  • Experiences with SI/PI tools like: Siwave, Sigrity, ADS, HFSS, Hspice, Hyperlynx etc.
  • Measurement experience in high-speed oscilloscopes, TDR and spectrum analyzers
  • Experience in ESD and thermal simulation is a plus
  • Self-motivated, a good team player, and the ability to work efficiently under pressure
