Laura Lombardi has extensive work experience in the field of biomedical research. Laura currently holds the position of Director of Pharmacology & Gene Therapy Research at Tenaya Therapeutics since January 2023. Prior to that, they served as the Associate Director - Gene Therapy Biology from July 2021 to December 2022, and as a Senior Scientist from July 2019 to June 2021 at the same company.
Before joining Tenaya Therapeutics, Laura worked as a Scientist II from February 2017 to June 2019 at the same company. Laura also gained valuable experience as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Howard Hughes Medical Institute/Baylor College of Medicine from August 2012 to January 2017.
Laura's earliest work experience dates back to their time as a Graduate Student Researcher & Instructor at the University of California, Berkeley from August 2005 to June 2011. During this time, they conducted comprehensive research on the molecular function of a proto-oncogene ortholog and its role as a transcriptional regulator by nucleosome spacing modulation.
Laura Lombardi's education history includes a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Biochemistry and Cell Biology from UC San Diego, which they completed between 2001 and 2005. Following their undergraduate studies, they pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Molecular and Cell Biology at the University of California, Berkeley. Laura obtained their PhD between the years 2005 and 2011.
