Shawna Khouri

Shawna Khouri has worked in various roles in the healthcare industry since 2013. Shawna began their career as a Research Engineer at Georgia Tech Research Institute in 2013. In 2015, they became the Director of Founders Forum at Forge Health. In 2016, they worked as a Business Analyst for the C3i Commercialization Training Program at the Wallace H. Coulter Foundation & NIH. In 2017, they worked as a Project Manager for the NIH - C3i Commercialization Training at Biocomx, and also served as Co-Founder and Board Member at TendoNova. Since 2020, they have held the roles of Director and Manager of Virtual Health at Tulsa Innovation Labs. During their time at Biolocity, they led a foundation-supported fund that provided diligence, milestone-driven funding, and business expertise to academic-stage biomedical technologies. Shawna managed a $1.5M annual funding budget and demonstrated consistent results from funding oversight resulting in an aggregate of 20 start-ups, 2 industry licenses, and 3 products on the market over a 4 year period.

Shawna Khouri began their educational journey at the Georgia Institute of Technology, where they received their Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering in 2012. Shawna then returned to the Georgia Institute of Technology to pursue their Master of Biomedical Innovation and Development, which they completed in 2014. During their undergraduate studies, they participated in the University College Dublin Spring 2011 Exchange Program.
