Matthew Nicholas is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in sustainability and legal counsel, currently serving as the Director of Sustainability and Head of Major Projects at Tennis Australia since October 2014. Matthew played a pivotal role as the Biosecurity Lead for the 2021 Australian Open. Prior to Tennis Australia, Matthew was Senior Legal Counsel for the Melbourne High School Old Boys Football Club from October 2014 to September 2019, and held positions including Senior Lawyer at Lander & Rogers from March 2007 to February 2013, and Senior Coach at the Australian Grand Prix Corporation from March 2013 to October 2014. Matthew holds a BA(Hons)/LLB(Hons) from Monash University and studied briefly at the University of California, Berkeley in 2004.
