Yin Yin has a wealth of experience in the technology and engineering fields. Yin began their career in 2002 as an Assistant IT System Administrator at Atomic Energy of Canada Ltd. Yin then moved on to Research Assistant at the same company in 2004. In 2005, they were an eBSC Global Product Support Intern at Nortel Networks, followed by System Validation Engineer at PMC-Sierra in 2010. From 2007 to 2013, Yin Yin was a MSc Student (Wearable Computing, Ubiquitous Computing) and Teaching Assistant (Various Design Courses) at Simon Fraser University. Yin then worked as a Network Engineer at Alliance Communication Group Inc. from 2012 to 2016. In 2016, they became a Product Development, QA/QC, and Operations Manager at BioInteractive Technologies Inc. where they designed the original printed circuit board for the wearable device used in early demonstrations and implemented a quality management system (QMS) to ensure the end product adhered to Canadian and US medical device compliance (Industry Canada, Health Canada, FCC, and FDA). Currently, Yin Yin is a Radio Frequency Design Engineer at Bosch Security and Safety Systems.

Yin Yin attended Queen's University from 2002 to 2007, where they obtained a BSc in Electrical Engineering (communications option). Yin then attended Simon Fraser University from 2007 to 2009, where they obtained an MSc in Wearable Computing. Finally, they attended The University of British Columbia from 2013 to 2015, where they obtained a Master's degree in Electrical, Electronics and Communications Engineering.
