Gene Urrutia has worked in various roles and positions throughout their career. Gene is currently serving as the Sr Director of Clinical Decision Support at TeraRecon, Inc. since May 2022. Additionally, they are also an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, starting in October 2022.
Prior to their current positions, Gene worked as the Founder and CEO of Bull City Biostats LLC since January 2014. Gene also has experience working at Hillrom, where they held various roles including Sr Manager, Algorithms from March 2022 to May 2022, Sr Lead Data Scientist from July 2020 to March 2022, and Sr Data Scientist from November 2018 to July 2020.
Before joining Hillrom, Gene was a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill from November 2017 to August 2018.
Gene Urrutia completed a Bachelor of Science in Biology at Duke University from 1998 to 2002. Later, from 2008 to 2013, they obtained a Doctor of Philosophy in Biostatistics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
