Patrick Brassil

Vice President of Pharmacology at Terremoto Biosciences

Patrick Brassil has extensive experience in the field of pharmaceuticals and drug development. Patrick is currently the Vice President of Pharmacology at Terremoto Biosciences since January 2023. Prior to that, from December 2021 to February 2023, they worked as the Head of Drug Metabolism and Pharmacokinetics at Global Blood Therapeutics.

From March 2017 to December 2021, Patrick held the position of Senior Director at Theravance Biopharma US, Inc., where they managed a team of DMPK scientists in the Discovery and Development of Localized Medicines, targeting diseases of the GI, Lung, Eye, and Skin. Before that, from July 2012 to March 2017, they worked as the Director, DMPK at the same company.

Patrick also has experience at AstraZeneca, where they served as the DMPK Project Leader from January 2010 to July 2012. In this role, they managed the progression of Discovery and Development Projects in the Oncology iMed, planned and executed GLP ADME and translational PK/PD studies, and compiled regulatory filing documentation.

Prior to their time at AstraZeneca, Patrick worked as an Associate Director at AstraZeneca R&D Boston from October 2002 to January 2010, where they managed a group of Scientists providing DMPK support to Discovery Infection and Cancer projects and successfully progressed several projects into Clinical Development. Before that, they were a Snr Investigator at Bristol-Myers Squibb from 1998 to 2002.

Patrick's career in the pharmaceutical industry started at Servier, where they worked as a Project Leader from January 1996 to June 1998, providing Drug Metabolism support to Development stage projects and managing a DDI support team. Patrick'sfirst role in the industry was as a Research Scientist at Elan Pharmaceuticals from 1990 to 1992.

Overall, Patrick Brassil has demonstrated expertise in pharmacology, drug metabolism, and pharmacokinetics throughout their career in various leadership positions in both biotech and pharmaceutical companies.

Patrick Brassil completed a Master of Science degree in Biochemical Pharmacology from the Royal Postgraduate Medical School in 1992. Patrick then went on to pursue a Ph.D in Biochemical Pharmacology at Imperial College London from 1992 to 1995.
