John Peacock has a diverse work experience spanning a variety of roles and industries. John began their career in 1995 as the Director of Information Research and Technology at Rowman & Littlefield Publishing Group, where they held the position for 12 years. In 2007, they transitioned to the technology sector, joining Message Systems as a Software Build and Release Engineer. During their time at Message Systems, they also served as a Quality Assurance Automation Engineer and played a key role in the deployment automation and site reliability engineering teams. In 2016, they joined the SRE team at Message Systems to support the development of a new cloud-based email platform called Sparkpost. John continued to advance in their career at Message Systems, taking on roles such as Senior Site Reliability Engineer, Lead Site Reliability Engineer, and Lead Software Development Engineer. After MessageBird acquired Message Systems, John Peacock remained with the company and assumed the role of Lead Software Development Engineer, where they provided support for Sparkpost cloud deployments and led the migration of EC2 instances for a faster deployment model. In 2022, John Peacock joined Tesla Government Inc. as a Linux System Administrator/DevOps.

John Peacock attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison from 1980 to 1984, where they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Nuclear Engineering.
