Job Title: Senior PostgreSQL Database Administrator (Cloud)

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled senior PostgreSQL database administrator (DBA) with expertise in cloud-based environments to join our dynamic team.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in managing PostgreSQL databases in cloud infrastructures, possess strong problem-solving skills, and excel in a fast-paced environment.

As a Senior PostgreSQL DBA, you will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and optimizing database solutions to support our organization's mission-critical applications.

Key Responsibilities:
Design, implement, and maintain PostgreSQL database solutions on cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure Perform database administration tasks including installation, configuration, monitoring, tuning, backup, recovery, and troubleshooting.
Develop and enforce database security policies and procedures to ensure data integrity and compliance with industry standards.
Optimize database schemas, queries, and application performance. Implement and maintain high availability and disaster recovery solutions for PostgreSQL databases.
Automate repetitive tasks and streamline database operations using scripting languages and automation tools. Conduct performance analysis and capacity planning to anticipate future resource requirements and scalability needs.
Stay updated with the latest trends and best practices in PostgreSQL database administration and cloud technologies.
Provide mentorship and guidance to junior database administrators as needed.
Participate in on-call rotations and respond to database-related incidents in a timely manner.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of experience as a PostgreSQL Database Administrator in a cloud environment. Proficiency in managing PostgreSQL databases on cloud platforms such as AWS RDS, Aurora, Azure Database for PostgreSQL, or Google Cloud SQL.
Strong understanding of database architecture, replication, clustering, and performance optimization techniques.
Experience with database security, encryption, and compliance standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).
Proficient in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell for automation tasks.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex database issues under pressure.
Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.
PostgreSQL certification (e.g., PostgreSQL Certified Engineer) is a plus.
