Jason Rodriguez

Senior Director, Immune Oncology Process Sciences at Tessera Therapeutics

Jason Rodriguez has a diverse work experience in the field of biotechnology and pharmaceuticals. Jason has held various roles in different companies, starting with Northwestern University where they worked as a Postdoctoral Associate from 2005 to 2006.

Jason then joined Columbia University Medical Center as a Postdoctoral Associate from 2006 to 2012, where they conducted research on retrovirus-host interactions, specifically focusing on the molecular mechanisms of XMRV and HIV replication.

In 2012, Jason moved to Merck as a Senior Scientist, specializing in cell culture process development for live viral vaccine production. Jason'sresponsibilities included media development, metabolomic analysis, and microcarrier cell culture.

After leaving Merck in 2016, they joined Unum Therapeutics as a Senior Scientist, where they led process development for retrovirus production and post-transduction analysis for CAR-T cell therapy products.

In 2018, Jason joined TCR2 Therapeutics Inc. as an Associate Director of Process Development. Jason'srole involved managing a lentiviral process team and contributing to the development of T-cell therapy processes.

In 2019, they joined Sana Biotechnology, Inc. as the Director of Gene Therapy. Jason was responsible for driving gene therapy drug development, building and managing a team, and supplying pre-clinical grade vectors for gene therapy programs.

Most recently, Jason is working at Tessera Therapeutics as the Senior Director of Immune Oncology Process Sciences. Jason'saccomplishments include building a research and development team, leading the CAR-T program, and serving as a program leader for immune oncology pipeline programs.

Throughout their career, Jason Rodriguez has demonstrated expertise in process development, gene therapy, viral production, and immunotherapy.

Jason Rodriguez earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Biochemistry from SUNY Geneseo in 1999. Jason then pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Biomedicine from Mount Sinai School of Medicine, completing their degree in 2005.
