Kim Severinsen has a varied work experience, beginning in 2001 with Mammoth Resorts in various positions. In 2004, they joined Chandler Macleod as an Associate Consultant/Assessment Coordinator, eventually becoming Consulting Operations Manager NSW. In 2010, they moved to IAG as an Assessment & Psychometric Testing Consultant, People, Community & Alliances. In 2012, they joined Korn Ferry as Senior Director, Global Assessment Centre of Expertise, Korn Ferry RPO & Professional Search, and was promoted to Vice President, Korn Ferry Institute in the same year. In 2021, they joined the Advisory Board for the Design Thinking Certificate Program at Tombolo Institute at Bellevue College. In 2022, they were appointed to the Board of Directors for Above the Stigma Board and also became Head of Assessments at TestGorilla.

Kim Severinsen obtained a Master of Arts (Honours) in Industrial & Organisational Psychology from Massey University in 2007 and a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from Victoria University of Wellington in 2001. Additionally, Kim has obtained certifications in the Hogan Assessment Suite, Korn Ferry Assessment of Leadership Potential (KFALP), Korn Ferry Four Dimensions Assessment (KF4D), Lominger & Korn Ferry Leadership Architect, SHL Assessment Suite, Saville Assessment Suite, Talent Q Assessment Suite, and viaEdge Learning Agility from Hogan Assessment Systems, Korn Ferry, SHL, Saville Consulting, and Talent Q respectively.
