Bocar Thiam serves as a Senior Associate at Tetra Tech since April 2019, focusing on managing field projects related to conflict minerals in artisanal mining across West and Central Africa, providing technical expertise on resource tenure, and supporting new business opportunities. Bocar has held significant roles, including Chief of Party for a USAID-funded project aimed at biodiversity conservation in the Congo Basin and Senior Advisor for the Water Security and Resilience in the Sahel initiative. Previous positions at various organizations, such as Winrock International and Indufor Ltd., involved leading projects and providing critical analysis on land governance, environmental impacts, and policy reforms. Bocar holds a Master's degree in Natural Resources and Environmental Management from Ball State University and is pursuing a Post-Graduate Certificate in International Environmental Law from American University Washington College of Law.
