Steve Oliver, CFA

Steve Oliver, CFA has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Steve currently serves as the Chief Compliance Officer and Head of Calgary at Tetra Trust Company since June 2022. Prior to that, they held the position of Chief Compliance Officer & VP Operations at the same company from November 2021 to June 2022.

In addition to their role at Tetra Trust Company, Steve has experience in academia, working as a Sessional Instructor at the University of Calgary since July 2021.

Steve has a long history with BP, where they held various roles in ethics and compliance management. Steve served as the Interim Compliance Director, Eastern Hemisphere from January 2021 to May 2021. Before that, they held the position of Ethics & Compliance Manager from September 2017 to December 2020, and from August 2016 to August 2017. Steve also served as the Executive Assistant (aka Chief of Staff) to the Group Ethics & Compliance Officer from July 2015 to August 2016, and as the Business Manager (aka Chief of Staff) Ethics & Compliance / Legal, IST from June 2014 to July 2015.

Prior to joining BP, Steve worked at Altrade Canada Inc., Mirant, and Cargill in various credit and treasury roles. Steve was a Credit Administrator at Altrade Canada Inc. from 1999 to 2002, a Credit & Treasury Administrator at Mirant from 2002 to 2003, and a Credit & Treasury Analyst at Cargill in 2003.

Steve started their career as a Senior Credit Analyst at BP in 2003 and held various credit-related positions at the company until 2014. These roles included Lead Strategic Credit Specialist, Strategic Credit Team Lead, and Credit Portfolio Lead.

Steve Oliver, CFA holds a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) certification, obtained from the CFA Institute. Steve also has a Bachelor's degree in Finance from The University of Lethbridge. In addition, Steve has a Business Administration Diploma from Mount Royal University.
