Chris Young

Chris Young serves as the Director of Human Resources at the Texas Department of Transportation since January 2015, overseeing a division that supports over 13,000 employees statewide. Previously, Chris held the position of Director of Workforce Development, earning the ATD Austin Leader in Learning Award in 2016. Earlier experience includes roles as Director of Talent Management at DeepMile Networks, LLC, and as a Foreign Service Officer with the U.S. Department of State, where responsibilities included managing international training programs. A veteran of the U.S. Army, Chris was an Arabic Linguist and led language training efforts. Educational qualifications include a PhD in Industrial and Organizational Psychology, an MBA in Finance and Management, and a BA in Economics, Government, and Arabic Language & Literature.
