Fernanda Mesquita is a Research Scientist at Texas Heart Institute, specializing in bioengineering, stem cell research, and cardiac differentiation since August 2017. Prior to this role, Fernanda completed a postdoctoral fellowship focused on LQTS2 iPSC disease modeling at Federal University of Rio de Janeiro from January 2016 to July 2017, and held a postdoctoral position at Fundación para la Lucha contra las Enfermedades Neurológicas de la Infancia, constructing CRISPR/Cas9 plasmids from February to December 2015. Fernanda earned a Doctor of Philosophy in Cardiovascular Science from Federal University of Rio de Janeiro between 2010 and 2014, a Master of Science in Stem Cell from the same institution from 2008 to 2010, and a Bachelor of Applied Science from State University of Maringa - PR - Brazil from 2002 to 2006.
