Joe Tovar

Past President at Texas Municipal Police Association

Joe Tovar has extensive work experience in law enforcement. Joe began their career in 2001 as a Patrol Officer at the New Braunfels Police Department and later became a Patrol Corporal. In 2008, they were promoted to Detective and then to the rank of Sergeant in 2018. During their time at the New Braunfels Police Department, they served in various roles and responsibilities. Tovar was also involved with the Texas Municipal Police Association, where they held positions such as Regional Director, 1st Vice President, and eventually the Past President. Tovar's work experience showcases their dedication and advancement within the law enforcement field.

Joe Tovar completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice Administration from Columbia Southern University from 2004 to 2008. In addition to their formal education, they obtained various certifications, including Advanced Cell Phone Investigation: Interpretations and Mapping of Records from Geo Cell in April 2016, Cellebrite Certified Physical Analyst from Cellebrite in June 2015, Oxygen Forensic Suite User from Public Agency Training Council in June 2014, and Practical Homicide Investigation from P.H.I Investigative Consultants, Inc. in November 2012.
