Carla Macali has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Carla started their career as an Occupational Therapist at Florida Hospital in 2009, where they worked with patients affected by stroke, brain injury, and orthopedic injuries. Carla then moved to WakeMed in 2011 and continued their work as an Occupational Therapist, specializing in CVA patients and utilizing various treatment approaches. In 2015, Carla joined Cisys LifeSciences as part of the Validation and Quality Assurance department, where they contributed to building the department, established a Corrective Action/Preventive Action system, and developed training processes. Carla then transitioned to TG Therapeutics, Inc. in 2016 as a Regulatory Associate - Site Operations, and later held the roles of TMF Lead and Clinical and TMF Operations Manager. In these roles, they served as a Subject Matter Expert for TMF processes and controls, led TMF Operations teams, managed eTMF systems, developed standard operating procedures, and participated in FDA inspections.
Carla Macali obtained their Bachelor's Degree in Kinesiology and Exercise Science, Biology from Youngstown State University, where they studied from 1999 to 2005. Carla then pursued a Masters of Occupational Therapy from The Ohio State University, completing their studies from 2006 to 2008. In July 2019, Carla received a Certificate of Completion for Good Clinical Practices (GCP) from The National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA).
