Dr. Matthias Gritschneder has extensive experience in the field of analytics and data science. Dr. Matthias began their career in 2009 as a Kavli Fellow at Peking University, where they coordinated an international team and conducted research on the origin of the Solar System. From 2011 to 2013, they were a Feodor-Lynen Fellow at the University of California, Santa Cruz, focusing on numerical solutions of ordinary differential equations. In 2013, they received the Feodor Lynen Return Fellowship from the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation, where they studied the origin of ionized proto-planetary disks. In 2014, they joined the LMU - Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München as a Senior Research Fellow and later assumed the role of Administrative Coordinator of the SPP 1573 of the DFG. During their time at LMU, they led small-scale teams in project management and worked on large-scale parallel computing projects using Python. Since 2019, Dr. Gritschneder has been with thaltegos GmbH, initially serving as a Senior Data Scientist and currently holding the position of Head of Analytics. Dr. Matthias'swork at thaltegos includes overseeing analytics activities and contributing to the company's strategic decision-making process.
Dr. Matthias Gritschneder pursued their education in the field of physics, with a focus on astrophysics. Dr. Matthias completed their Bachelor's degree (Vordiplom) in Physics at the University of Regensburg from 1998 to 2001. Following this, they obtained a Master's degree (Diplom) in Physics from Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München, studying from 2001 to 2004. Dr. Gritschneder continued their studies at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München, where they earned a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Astrophysics from 2004 to 2009.
