Tom Edward Lane

Tom Edward Lane is a seasoned design professional with extensive experience in product design and user experience. Currently serving as the Lead Product Designer at The AA since August 2025, Tom also owns Quant & Qual, a role held since July 2016. Previous positions include Head of Design at British Gas from August 2022 to August 2025 and Lead Product Designer at Virgin Atlantic for a brief period in August 2022. Tom's career features roles such as Lead Product Designer for National Grid US at ustwo, Lead User Experience Consultant at The AA, and User Experience/Interaction Designer at the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government. Additionally, Tom has worked as Lead Product Designer and Senior Product Designer on contracts with British Gas and Idean UK, along with a role as Lead UX/UI Designer at AVIS.
