Kyle Nelson

Kyle Nelson has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Kyle currently serves as a Project Lead at The Aerospace Corporation since 2022. Prior to that, they were the Co-Founder of Debt Free Millennials, where they taught people how to manage their finances and get out of debt. Before that, they worked as a Nuclear Engineer at SPAWAR from 2015 to 2022, where they designed and tested radiation detection instruments and integrated sensors onto various vehicles. Kyle also worked as a Research Scientist at Arktis Radiation Detectors Ltd in 2014.

In terms of their academic background, Kyle worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow at Kansas State University from 2013 to 2015, where they designed and tested neutron detectors and electro-optic radiation detectors. Kyle also served as a Graduate Research Assistant at Kansas State University from 2008 to 2013, where they focused on designing neutron detectors and other radiation detection devices. Prior to that, Kyle gained research experience as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln from 2005 to 2008 and as a Summer Intern at the University of Salford in 2006.

Kyle Nelson obtained their Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Chemistry from Nebraska Wesleyan University, where they studied from 2004 to 2008. In 2008, they briefly attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln to study Chemical Engineering. Subsequently, from 2008 to 2013, they pursued their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Nuclear Engineering at Kansas State University.
