Cphr Brian Gervais

Brian Gervais, CPHR has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and leadership roles. Brian is currently working as the Chief People Officer at The Alex Community Health Centre, a role they started in August 2023. Prior to this, they served as the Human Resources Director at the Calgary Food Bank from January to July 2023. From June 2018 to December 2022, Brian was the Vice President of People and Culture at YMCA Calgary. Before that, they worked at the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT) as an Executive In Residence from September 2017 to June 2018, where they provided support for business students and faculty.

Brian also had an extensive career at TD, where they held several senior executive positions. From September 2014 to January 2018, they were the SVP Regional Retail Banking - Prairie Region, leading over 200 branches and 3000+ employees in the prairie provinces. Prior to that, they briefly served as the SVP Regional Retail Banking - GTA Region. From June 2012 to April 2014, Brian was the SVP Branch Banking - Atlantic Region, responsible for managing all 50 branches in Atlantic Canada. Earlier in their career at TD, they were the SVP Human Resources from April 2008 to May 2012, overseeing HR strategies and implementation. Brian also served as the VP Human Resources from April 2006 to April 2008, responsible for HR in the retail branch banking network across Canada. Additionally, Brian held the position of AVP Human Resources from February 2005 to April 2006, where they were the HR lead for the Prairie Region, managing HR matters for over 170 branches and 3600 employees.

Brian Gervais, CPHR, has an education history that includes an MBA Essentials for Executives program from the University of Toronto - Rotman School of Management in 2007. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Political Science and Government from Carleton University from 1984-1989.
