Karen Ross

Director, Accounting at The American Institute of Architects

Karen Ross has been working in the accounting field for over 30 years. Karen has held various roles in different organizations, starting as a staff accountant at Padgett Business Services from 1992 to 1996. After that, they worked as an accounts receivable accountant at Reico Kitchen & Bath from 1996 to 1999. Karen then joined MicroStrategy as a receivables accountant from 1999 to 2000. Following that, they served as a staff accountant/auditor at The Palm Restaurant from 2000 to 2004. Karen then transitioned to the nonprofit sector, working as a senior accountant at the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation from 2004 to 2006 and later as a senior accountant at the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA) from 2006 to 2007. Currently, they are the director of accounting at The American Institute of Architects (AIA) since August 2022 and has previously held the roles of sr. manager and manager of accounting at the same organization. Throughout their career, Karen has gained experience in various accounting functions, including general ledger management, financial reporting, bank reconciliations, and treasury management.

Karen Ross earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Salisbury University.
