Clara Tyrel

Clara Tyrel is an accomplished outdoor educator with extensive experience in environmental education and maintenance. Currently employed at The Ashokan Center since September 2023, Clara teaches inquiry-based lessons to students in grades 1-12, incorporating elements such as living history and ecology while enhancing the music program to include folk culture. Previously, Clara worked at Great Camp Sagamore and served as a maintenance technician for FORCES NYS Parks, Recreation, and Historic Preservation, leading maintenance teams and assisting park patrons. Additionally, Clara has experience as an Invasive Species Technician at Green Lakes State Park and as an Environmental Educator at NYSDEC Summer Camp Pack Forest. Clara holds a Bachelor of Science in Conservation Biology from the State University of New York College of Environmental Science and Forestry.
