Alessandra Phillips

Associate General Counsel at The Aspen Institute

Alessandra Phillips is the Aspen Institute’s Associate General Counsel, responsible for advising on a wide array of legal issues for the Institute’s programs and administrative departments. Prior to joining the Institute, Alessandra was the Acting Executive Director and then the Director for Community Inclusive Development for the International Senior Lawyers Project, a non-profit organization that provides pro bono legal assistance to governments and civil society organizations in the Global South in order to facilitate just and equitable international development. Prior to her experience in international development and anti-corruption, Alessandra was a litigator for over a decade, and focused her practice in the Delaware Court of Chancery and federal court where she represented corporations, alternative entities, directors and officers, shareholders, members and partners in disputes involving securities fraud, corporate governance, breach of fiduciary duty, statutory claims for access to corporate records, control contests, and appraisal. Alessandra received her undergraduate degree from Yale University, where she graduated with a degree in Humanities with distinction in the major and competed for Yale on the varsity crew. She graduated from Temple University School of Law, where she was a Public Interest Fellow, a member of the Moot Court Honor Society, and the National Trial Team.
