Emily Rom serves as Stewardship Manager and Assistant Corporate Secretary with the Office of Institutional Advancement. She manages over 65 custom annual donor and endowment reports for major donors and trustees; oversees the Institute’s Paepcke Society; manages donor recognition for the Annual Report; administers Institute-wide endowment scholarship distribution, notification, and reporting; and supports all activities of the Board of Trustees. Previously, Emily served as the Advancement Associate at the Smithsonian’s National Museum of Natural History (NMNH) supporting the major gift team with pipeline management, prospect research, and proposal and grant writing to secure funding for the renovation of the Fossil Hall and to reach the Smithsonian wide $1.5 billion campaign goal. Before joining NMMH, she served as the Advancement Assistant at the Smithsonian’s Archives of American Art (AAA) where she managed AAA’s annual fund, gift processing, and annual fundraising gala. Originally from southwest Florida, Emily received a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature and History from Florida State University and a Master of Arts in Museum Studies from the George Washington University.
