Seth Henderson

Project Manager, Enterprise Division at The Aspen Institute

Seth is a project manager and leader within the Aspen Institute with diverse experience in political organizing, non-profit management, economic and youth development, and entrepreneurship. He worked closely with colleagues to develop the first men of color employee resource group within the Aspen Institute. He has also co-chaired the Task Force on Equity & Inclusion alongside colleagues dedicated to implementing recommendations to improve diversity, equity, and inclusion for all staff.

Prior to joining the Aspen Global Leadership Network, Seth was a Program Manager and Allstate Fellow for the Aspen Institute Citizenship & American Identity Program. Over the course of four years, he helped launch and manage the team’s Better Arguments Project, a national civic initiative created to help bridge ideological divides. Prior to joining the Aspen Institute, Seth was the first employee of President Obama’s MyBrother’s Keeper Alliance (MBKA). President Obama established MyBrother’s Keeper in 2014 to address persistent opportunity gaps facing boys and young men of color and to ensure all youth can reach their full potential. He is also McNair Scholar and former White House intern for President Barack Obama. He also served as a research assistant to Dr. Jennifer L. Hochschild, a Henry LaBarre Jayne Professor of Government and Professor of African and African American Studies at Harvard University. Since 2014, he has served on the Advisory Board of the Los Angeles-based non-profit In A Perfect World, which has funded 30 schools in 7 different countries, supported over 500 high-poverty classrooms between Los Angeles, Minneapolis & Washington, D.C, and positively impacted more than 35,000 children worldwide.

Seth is a graduate of Eastern Kentucky University where he majored in political science and criminal justice. He has completed certifications in Nonprofit Executive Management from Georgetown University, Diversity & Inclusion from Cornell University, Project Management from Harvard University and completed the McKinsey & Company Black Leadership Academy Management Accelerator.
