Steve Ruark

Steve Ruark is an experienced photographer and educator, currently serving as a Photography Teacher at Gilman School since March 2021. Ruark operates Ruarkphoto.com as a freelance photographer since 2002, specializing in storytelling photography for various media outlets, corporations, and nonprofit organizations. Additional freelance work includes contributions to notable institutions such as the Associated Press, The Baltimore Sun, and The New York Times. Ruark also held positions as a Managing Photographer at Bmore Media from January 2012 to June 2013 and as a staff photographer at The Jackson Sun from 2001 to 2002. Ruark earned a Bachelor of Science in Photojournalism from Syracuse University, with previous educational experiences at Gilman.
