Ankur Datta has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of machine learning and artificial intelligence. Ankur has held various leadership roles in reputable companies such as The Boston Dynamics AI Institute, Twitter, and Rakuten. At The Boston Dynamics AI Institute, they served as the Director of Machine Learning, focusing on deep learning and robots. At Twitter, they were the Director of Applied Machine Learning, leading a team in content understanding. During their time at Rakuten, they held two positions - Senior Director of Machine Learning and Director of Machine Learning, where they led cross-functional teams in areas such as natural language processing and customer behavior understanding. Prior to that, Ankur worked as a Research Manager at Rakuten, leading a team focused on machine learning and natural language processing projects in the e-commerce space. Ankur Datta obtained their Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from the University of Central Florida, from the year 2000 to 2004. Subsequently, they pursued higher education and earned their PhD in Robotics and Computer Science from Carnegie Mellon University between 2004 and 2010. In addition to their formal education, Ankur also attended a Summer Program in Computer Science at Caltech in 2003.
