Simon McGrath has extensive experience in the field of communications and media. Simon has served as the Head of Communications and External Relations at The Camping and Caravanning Club since 2018. In this role, they are responsible for various communications functions, including media and PR, as well as maintaining relationships with industry, trade organizations, and government bodies. Additionally, they represent the Club on external bodies and serves as the Chair of the Sport and Recreation Alliance's Outdoor Pursuits Division. Simon is also the author of the book "Camping with Kids."

Prior to their current role, Simon was the Editor of Camping & Caravanning, the world's largest and oldest camping magazine. During their tenure, they led a team of journalists, designers, and technical staff, managed a substantial budget, and oversaw the production of various publications, including brochures and an annual report. Simon was also responsible for the magazine's advertising targets and revenue streams, as well as the development of new digital publications. Simon's expertise extends to product development and establishing new revenue streams. Simon also published a range of campsite guides and brochures.

Before joining The Camping and Caravanning Club, Simon worked as an Editor at Group RCI from 1997 to 2008. Prior to that, they served as the Deputy News Editor at the Northamptonshire Evening Telegraph in 1996.

Simon McGrath attended Cavendish School in Hemel Hempstead from 1979 to 1987. Simon then went on to study Government, Politics, and Modern History at Brunel University London, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree from 1987 to 1991.
