Zaria Poem

Zaria Poem is a multifaceted professional with extensive experience in arts education and wellness. As a Teaching Artist at The Center for Arts Education since March 2015, Zaria instructs visual arts lessons for English Language Learners in various school settings in New York City. In addition, Zaria has been a Teaching Artist with LEAP NYC since December 2017 and contributed as a Teaching Artist for The DreamYard Project from August 2018 to June 2021. Zaria also serves as a Full Spectrum Doula and Herbalist with Ripe Moon, providing comprehensive care to expectant families since February 2015. As a co-founder and arts curator of Disclaimer Gallery, Zaria oversees art programming and exhibitions, which now function as a mobile/virtual entity. Zaria's freelance writing career encompasses contributions to multiple publications, focusing on arts, culture, and wellness, alongside technical writing skills for business plans and promotional content. Previously, Zaria curated art exhibitions at City Bird Gallery and managed publications for Con Artist Collective & Gallery. Zaria holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism from Howard University, obtained in 2011.
