Thordis LOA Thorhallsdottir has had an extensive career in various roles and organizations. Thordis LOA began in 2013 as the President of the Association of Women Business Leaders (FKA) and held this position until 2017. In 2015, they became a Board Member of Eldey Travel Leisure Holding and served until 2021. From 2016 to 2018, they served as the CEO of Gray Line Iceland, a prominent tourist company. In 2018, they took on multiple roles, including Chairman of Arcanum Glacier Tours, Chairman of Reykjavik Pension fund until 2022, Board Member of the Icelandic Association of Local Authorities until 2022, and Chairperson of the Board at Faxaports. Additionally, they have served as Deputy Mayor & President of the Executive Board at the City of Reykjavik from 2018 to the present. In 2019, they became a Board Member of The Tourist Site Protection Fund, and in 2021, they became a Board Member of the Tourism Board of Iceland.
Thordis LOA Thorhallsdottir holds a Bachelor's degree in Sociology from Háskóli Íslands, which they obtained from 1992 to 1995. Thordis LOA pursued further studies at the same institution and completed a program in Social Work from 1995 to 1996. In 1990 to 1991, they attended Loyola University New Orleans, focusing on Media Studies. Thordis LOA Thorhallsdottir also pursued an MBA in Business Strategy at the University of Reykjavik from 2002 to 2003. Additionally, they completed a course in Corporate Governance at Háskóli Íslands in 2015.
