Position Overview: The core line of business currently under the Teacher Education Ecosystem is Moreland University. Moreland University is a nationally accredited post-graduate higher education institution offering teacher certification programs via the TEACH-NOW Teacher Certification Program as well as multiple master’s degree offerings to K-12 educators globally.  Moreland’s mission is teaching teachers around the world to be resourceful problem solvers and tech-savvy educators through an online, collaborative, activity-based learning system designed for tomorrow’s students in a dynamic and diverse world. The CRO/Head of Partnerships owns the revenue growth at Moreland and focuses on growth in terms of innovation in enrollment, partnerships, and market expansion.  This happens via school district partnerships, international partnerships, market expansion opportunities, and increasing student enrollments to drive overall growth of the University.  This person is a dynamic and experienced growth-oriented leader who is an educational market expert and excited about growth while building and leading a team of passionate individuals who care deeply about supporting teachers to provide impactful learning experiences for their K-12 students. 

What You'll Do

  • Establish and own a clear vision for, Admissions, B2B growth and business development of Moreland University in terms of student enrollment growth and market opportunity growth to aim for a $100M in growth over the next 3-5 years
  • Develop the needed A+ team to grow and scale achieving double-digit growth YoY allowing educators everywhere to experience quality teacher preparation and retention support from Moreland University
  • Lead the team to create and own the relationships with U.S. school district partners and international school partners, along with other business development partnerships, to expand the reach of Moreland’s best-in-class programs to lean into solving teacher shortages with highly qualified teacher candidates by increasing enrollments and growing the pipeline to ultimately scale the student population at Moreland helping to solve for the teacher shortage everywhere.
  • Drive data-driven decision-making, leading against a set of defined KPIs that drive student enrollment growth, market expansion, and brand trust and credibility for Moreland University leveraging the expertise of the educational and marketing experts on the team. Lead the weekly forecast and pipeline reviews, with tight, focused data via Salesforce and HubSpot to ensure all leading and lagging metrics are ahead or on track to deliver on growth targets.
  • Provide a collaborative leadership style that brings team members together, connecting the dots across the University, empowering employee innovation, and ensuring all teams are in sync and have clarity as to our work and focus related to performance and growth.
  • Anticipate business cycles and market trends to strategically plan for and build capacity and skills within the University; collaborate with the work of the senior leaders and marketing/academic product teams to keep an eye on the programming needed to ensure the strategic growth of the University can be achieved. Deliver monthly and quarterly forecast reports that are 90+% accurate and when off target demonstrates strategic and innovative leadership to pivot to return to target
  • Coordination with senior leadership to ensure Moreland University remains a hallmark element of the career lifecycle management offerings for teacher education as the ecosystem expands to include services such as test preparation, career placement supports, professional development, and continuing education offerings

What You'll Do

  • Experienced K-12 business development and revenue growth leader, who understands and has the skills to grow an area of business via market, admissions, and partnership expansion opportunities.
  • Knowledge and experience in K-12 business development and growth to achieve core business KPIs, such as leading and lagging KPI targets, customer satisfaction targets, program/product excellence, and core financial metrics such as profitability and gross margins.
  • Depth of experience in leadership skills to inspire and mobilize cross-functional teams to achieve stellar results across all metrics, most importantly business and financial metrics alongside customer satisfaction metrics as raving fans of Moreland.
  • Ability to craft a growth vision and then gain ownership and support for that vision from stakeholders as well as skills to mobilize team members to plan and execute on the vision with measurable steps and outcomes to ultimately celebrate the success of the work.
  • Ability to focus on “What Matters Most”; keeping an eye on priorities including what we should not focus on, while tracking performance in transparent and healthy ways to ensure a win-win environment in which all team members feel engaged and empowered with clarity and focus.
  • Knowledge of the K-12 and higher education market in terms of trends, best practices, educational research, the needs of K-12 teachers, and create relationships with school districts and organizations such as ISTE, ASCD, AASA, NASS, AASPA, NHRA, etc.

What You'll Need to Succeed

  • Direct experience in leading K-12 growth or revenue generation teams in an educational or ed tech setting
  • Minimally 12-15+ years in K-12 and Higher Education business development and work in the educational market
  • Knowledge and experience of working with or in U.S. K-12 school systems
  • Senior and executive level leadership roles/experience and a strong network of U.S. school systems and educational experts and knowledge of great resources in the field
  • Exceptionally eloquent speaker and writer to be the voice of growth and innovation for the University
  • Willing to travel ~20% of the time, largely to U.S. school systems, University offices, and conference and speaking opportunities: travel is both domestic to the U.S. and occasional international travel
