Andrew Sloan is an experienced engineering professional with a diverse background in project management and leadership within the rail and electric vehicle sectors. Currently serving as Freeman at The Company of Cutlers in Hallamshire since October 2023, Andrew has held various senior roles at MAGTEC, including Engineering Director and Head of Engineering, contributing to innovative projects like the hybrid conversion of Class 165 trains. Prior experience includes managing complex rail projects at PFISTERER LIMITED and overseeing multiple HST upgrade projects at Wabtec Faiveley UK. Andrew's engineering career began with the Royal Navy Submarines, where a rapid ascent to Equipment Maintenance Manager was achieved through a four-year electrical/electronic engineering apprenticeship. Educational qualifications include a Foundation Degree from the University of Derby and various certifications in engineering management and project management.
