Mary Grimes Opel

Mary Grimes Opel is an experienced dance professional with a diverse background in writing, teaching, and program management in the dance field. Since 2012, Mary has worked as a freelance dance writer, contributing articles and critiques to various publications. Concurrently, as an instructor at The Dailey Method, Mary teaches weekly classes in alignment with company standards. Mary previously served as the Community Education Manager for the Colorado Conservatory of Dance, where responsibilities included developing community outreach programs, collaborating on educational syllabi, and overseeing anti-bullying initiatives. Mary has extensive teaching experience across several dance academies, and holds a Master of Fine Arts in Dance from Mills College and a Bachelor of Arts in Dance from Scripps College.
