Charlie Haines

Charlie Haines is an accomplished sports writer at The Daily Tar Heel, specializing in coverage of Division I sports in Chapel Hill since January 2023. In the summer of 2024, Charlie served as an intern at the Financial Times as an Account Coordinator within the Business Education team. Previous experience includes roles as a camp counselor at The Y (YMCA), an assistant barista and food runner at The Chastain, and a swim team coach at Chastain Park Swimming Pool. Charlie is pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Peace War and Defense with a minor in Creative Writing at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, after completing the IB Diploma at North Atlanta High School. Additionally, Charlie will study at the Universitetet i Bergen from January to July 2024.
