Dan Musick

Dan Musick has a diverse work experience spanning over several roles and industries. Dan began their career as a Field Instructor at Denali National Park Wilderness Centers LTD in 1996, where they led location-based environmental education programs. Dan then worked as a Field Instructor at Teton Science Schools, leading immersive outdoor education experiences in Teton National Park. In 1998, they joined NatureBridge as a Field Instructor, guiding school groups on educational adventures in Yosemite National Park.

In 1999, Dan transitioned to teaching and became a Science Teacher at Lab School of Washington, specializing in teaching science to students with learning disabilities. Dan also created a partnership with the Teton Science School to lead week-long expedition trips in Grand Teton National Park. From 2002 to 2006, they worked as an English Teacher and Department Chair at The Churchill School and Center, focusing on strategies to make learning English enjoyable for learning-disabled students. During this time, they also established partnerships with the Teton Science School and Yosemite Institute to lead middle school expedition trips.

Dan then joined the United Nations International School in 2006 as a Learning Specialist, where they developed the high school learning support program and co-created the International Award. In 2008, they became a Learning Specialist at the Dalton School, focusing on middle school students and managing the school's learning support program. Dan later transitioned to the role of Director of Institutional Research and Initiatives, where they played a key role in professional development, strategic planning, and implementation of various projects.

Outside of the education sector, Dan has also pursued entrepreneurial ventures. In 2010, they became the Director and Owner of Forestcraft Summer Camp, organizing outdoor adventures for teens in the Adirondack Mountains. Dan also served as a Founding Board Member for the Discover Outdoors Foundation from 2012 to 2017.

Additionally, Dan has a military background, having served as a Soldier in the Army National Guard from 1992 to 1998.
