Cynthia Bahnij

Cynthia Bahnij is a seasoned security professional with extensive experience in airport operations and transportation security. Currently serving as a Security Professional at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security since April 2019, Cynthia collaborates with various law enforcement agencies to enhance safety in air travel and possesses a Secret Clearance. With five years as a Transportation Security Administration (TSA) Federal Employee, roles have included Transportation Assistant and Transportation Security Officer, where expertise in conflict resolution, customer service, and adherence to regulations has been demonstrated. Previous experience includes a long tenure as an International Purser Flight Attendant with American Airlines, where Cynthia earned recognition for training and mentoring flight attendants and participated in significant anti-terrorism exercises. Cynthia also held teaching positions and administrative roles earlier in the career, supported by a Master’s Degree in Adult Education and Curriculum from the University of Phoenix and a Bachelor’s Degree in Art Teacher Education from Kent State University.
