Kimberly Pettit currently serves as Deputy Director and Program Manager for the Common Operating Picture and Geospatial Data & Capabilities at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security since October 2019. Prior to this, Kimberly worked at FEMA where roles included IT Specialist and Emergency Management Specialist (GIS), overseeing IT projects, administering the National Flood Hazard Layer, and leading development teams for geospatial applications. Previous experience includes positions as a GIS Analyst with the Idaho Department of Water Resources and Idaho Department of Lands, and various GIS-related roles at organizations such as the Pacific States Marine Fisheries Commission and the California Department of Fish and Game. Kimberly holds a Master's in Geographic Information Systems and a Post-Baccalaureate Certificate from Pennsylvania State University, as well as a Bachelor's in Fisheries and Wildlife from Michigan State University.
