Nate Snyder serves as the Chief of Staff for Partnership and Engagement and Senior Policy Advisor for Counterterrorism and Threat Prevention at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security since May 2021. Snyder has also held key roles such as Senior Advisor for Operation Allies Refuge and Operation Allies Welcome, where efforts focused on Afghan evacuee support. As an Adjunct Professor at the University of Chicago, Snyder contributes to the inaugural Master's program on threat response management. Previously, Snyder was the Executive Vice President for Counterterrorism and Homeland Security at Cambridge Global Advisors, advising a range of clients on security matters, and CEO of Light Side Force Strategies, LLC, focusing on law enforcement and counterterrorism. Earlier experience includes significant roles in the Obama Administration, with responsibilities encompassing community partnerships and countering violent extremism. Academic credentials include a Master’s Degree in National Security with a focus on Counterterrorism from the U.S. Naval War College and a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science and History from Syracuse University.
