Want to help shape the future of social media at The Drum?            

As Social Media Community Executive, you’ll support the Digital Publishing department to deliver our social media strategy and build a deeper connection with our audience around the world. Sitting within the Editorial team, you’ll oversee social media across the company, providing support and advice to all locations, including the US team.

This is a creative position with a sizeable agenda and great accountability where you will have autonomy to own the day-to-day of our social media accounts, requiring innovation and impeccable communication skills.

The Social Media Community Executive will be working alongside writers, photographers, production and events to manage a busy schedule of communications and marketing, helping to create thumb-stopping content and supporting colleagues across the organisation to understand how to use social effectively, and identifying new opportunities for growth.

Key responsibilities

  • Professional social media management with a focus onbrand
  • Providing social media advice to internal stakeholders
  • Planning and producing organic social media content for a wide range of audiences
  • Actively engaging on social media and responding to queries
  • Advising on and managing paid social media
  • Analysing and reporting on social media performance and translating data into insights for internal stakeholders
  • Briefing visual assets for social media and basic design skills
  • Using SEO to inform social media content
  • Support the Digital Publishing team on digital advertising by boosting posts as appropriate and supporting wider social campaigns.
  • Working with and briefing external stakeholders
  • Growing our social media communities and managing our content calendar
  • Deliver and build on the social media strategy, to increase engagement and acquire more followers and supporters.
  • Work with key stakeholders to integrate social content into all marketing efforts and ensure content aligns with organisational and specific project strategies
  • Producing innovative, engaging content across our social media channels, ensuring all posts are aligned with our brand tone of voice and values.
  • Day-to-day running of our social accounts, including copywriting, publishing, scheduling, engagement and moderation.
  • Live social coverage of The Drum events, including the fast turnaround of standout social moments.
