The Earthshot Prize
Xiomara Acevedo is the Founder and CEO of Fundación Barranquilla+20, a youth and women-led NGO established in 2012 that focuses on educating and mobilizing communities to tackle the environmental crisis through biodiversity conservation, climate justice, and policy inclusion. With extensive experience in various organizations, Acevedo serves on the Expert Advisory Panel for The Earthshot Prize and is the Latin America Training Coordinator for the Loss and Damage Youth Coalition. Previous roles include being a Program Officer for Sida, a Task Force member for UNESCO’s IHP-IX, and coordinating initiatives at the Fundación Territorio Silvestre. Acevedo holds an MPhil in Conservation Leadership from the University of Cambridge and has completed postgraduate training in climate change and international relations, among other educational credentials.
