Ana Lankes is an accomplished journalist with extensive experience in reporting and analysis across Latin America. Currently serving as Brazil bureau chief and previously as Latin America Correspondent and Argentina and Chile Correspondent at The Economist since September 2021, Lankes has also worked as an Argentina reporter for The New York Times between June 2022 and March 2023. Prior consulting experience includes a role at Chatham House, where Lankes co-edited a book on the future of human rights. Earlier positions include Europe Writer and Assistant News Editor at The Economist, and researcher roles at the Global Public Policy Institute and Global Witness. Lankes holds a Bachelor's degree in History from the University of Oxford and a dual Master's degree in International Relations from The London School of Economics and Political Science.
