James Watkins has a diverse work experience. James currently works at The Economist as the Head of Marketing Strategy and Analysis, where they lead cross-functional projects and optimizes marketing performance. Before that, they worked at BritBox International, first as a Senior Acquisition Manager, then as a Director of Growth, and finally as a Senior Director of Growth. In these roles, they managed paid media spend, exceeded business targets, and led subscriber growth. Prior to that, James worked at OZY Media, where they served as an Associate Marketing Director and Senior Marketing Manager, leading marketing efforts for digital news and TV shows. James also worked as a Lead Producer for OZY Fest and as a Reporter, writing original feature stories. James has additional experience as Editor-in-Chief of the Harvard International Review, as a Policy Research Intern at the OECD, as a Journalism Intern at UB Post, and as a Sustainable and Responsible Investment Intern at Alliance Trust.

James Watkins attended Harvard University from 2012 to 2016, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts degree with high honors in Social Studies and Mathematical Sciences. In 2022, they obtained a Section 4 Certified Complete Manager certification from Section4.
