Rick Mendes has worked in the creative industry since 1999. In 1999, they worked as a Web Designer for pcBank.net / Radicus Internet, where they built and designed websites for local businesses, explored Flash as an animation medium, and supplied client support and relations. In 2000, they worked as an Interface Designer for CCBN, where they were the lead graphic designer for all internal work, designed GUI for product interfaces, designed and built multimedia presentations, and developed internal corporate branding. In 2001, they worked as a Multimedia Designer for Planit, where they designed, developed, and maintained websites for a variety of businesses and organizations, and worked closely with clients to effectively manage project goals and creative production. Rick'sclients included Team Lexus, Universal Music, and Citi Bank. Rick also worked as CEO for My Apartment, where they freelanced, researched advanced game play capabilities of Playstation 2, and studied the effects of a bohemian lifestyle in the East Village. In 2004, they worked as Sr. Art Director, Senior Interactive Designer, and Executive Producer for ExpandTheRoom LLC, where they designed, planned, and directed all client work. Rick'sclients included Game Show Network, ESPN, NHL, Popular Science, Rollingstone.com, Real Networks, Trump, BravoTV, Us Magazine, and GQ. In 2010, they worked as Executive Producer and Head of Production for ExpandTheRoom LLC. Finally, since 2014, they have been Creative Director at The Elixir Haus, where they specialize as a Web / UI Designer, Web Developer, Project Manager, and Consultant. Rick and their wife partner with a few associates to offer freelance/contract services for web design and corporate identity to clients, including Antenna International, WINFertility, Piranha NYC, Pacific Communications, Rev Health, and ExpandTheRoom.

Rick Mendes received a Bachelor degree in Illustration from the Maryland Institute College of Art in 1999. Prior to this, they attended Miami Dade College from 1995 to 1996, studying Visual Communications. Rick then went on to obtain a Masters degree in Digital Art from the Maryland Institute College of Art in 2000.
